PHOTOS: Livingstone Primary learners create ‘egg-cellent’ art

This March Livingstone Primary School launched a Fabergé Egg Competition for the learners of the school to explore their creativity.

IN early March, Livingstone Primary School launched a Fabergé Egg Competition for the learners of the school to promote creativity amongst all grades at the primary school. According to the librarian at the school, Caryl Marshall, “The children had to take a hen’s egg, and we showed them a video, helping them learn how to blow out the contents – the yolk and the egg white – then they decorated it.”

The learners displayed their eggs in the library at the school, where they were able to get help from librarians Caryl Marshall and Amy Wyndham.
“The initiative started three weeks ago, and the whole school is participating in this initiative, from Grade 0 to Grade Seven. They had to hand their eggs in by March 24, and we gave out prizes per grade at the end of March,” said Wyndham.

Wyndham says she is blow away by the creativity of the learners, “It’s unbelievable and all the learners did a great job.”
