WATCH: Approximately 1 500 EFF protestors march into CBD

There have been no incidents reported at this stage.

PROTEST action was peaceful as approximately 1 500 EFF supporters marched along King DiniZulu Road in Berea toward the Durban Central Business District.

Berea Mail arrived on the scene at about 10:50 to capture some of the march. Protestors toting placards walked along the road with numerous police vehicles in tow.

Speaking to Berea Mail, Captain Muzi Maphumulo, spokesperson for Durban Central SAPS, confirmed that there had been no incidents reported at 11:45 when protesters had entered the CBD.

“The EFF supporters are marching in the Durban CBD along Dr Prixley KaSeme Street. There are approximately 1 500 people. There is a heavy police presence monitoring the scene,” said Maphumulo.

The march began outside the EFF offices in Glenwood.
