Durban Central Police seek assistance in two rape cases

SAPS are searching for two men believed to have information on recent rape cases.

DURBAN Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit detectives are appealing for help in finding two males who have been accused of being involved in two cases of rape. The police are hoping to find the men to gather information for the investigation of rape and sexual offence cases.

Case 1:

According to Detective Constable Majola, it is alleged by the complainant that on January 16, at 03:00, a 29-year-old victim was sleeping in a hotel on Dr Pixley Kaseme Street, when a friend who booked her room came into the room. “He wanted to use her cellphone to download an email. While he was inside the room, he raped her and took her laptop. He then left the room, and he blocked her contact,” said Majola.

Case 2:

Majola says the second complainant alleges that on February 23, at about 06:30, a 15-year-old victim left her home to attend school. “The mother was informed by neighbours that her daughter was seen in the South Beach area. On the same day, after school, the mother took her daughter to a doctor who confirmed that she was raped,” said Majola.

Police believe that the males in the identikit can be of assistance in solving the cases.
