‘Christmas gifts’ for newspaper delivery staff discouraged

Residents who are harassed in any way should report this to us by calling our toll-free number: 0800 4444 66.

CAXTON Local Media objects to any newspaper distribution staff asking residents for ‘Christmas’ –  gifts, money, food, etc.

This behaviour is discouraged and not acceptable.

Should readers experience any difficulties with a newspaper distribution runner insisting they want a  ’Christmas bonus’, let us know by reporting it to 0800 4444 66 or email distribution@dbn.caxton.co.za. Please remember to include your name, surname, contact number and physical address.

We will make every effort to ensure you still receive your newspaper and investigate any complaints received.

Caxton Local Newspapers distribution is monitored and audited. Quarterly audits are performed by the Audit Bureau of Circulation which issues our Verified Free Distribution Certificate. This means that the distributors are not able to give out random papers as people ask for them. In addition, they are not allowed to ask readers for gifts in any way.
