SAPS track down and arrest Durban Beachfront robbers

As SAPS arrived, a suspect immediately fled the scene, and a foot chase ensued.

DURBAN Central SAPS recovered a stolen cellphone after spotting the vehicle used in a robbery at North Beach. The cellphone was recovered in a vehicle on Queen Street, in the Durban CBD, on Wednesday, November 30 at 11:30 – an hour after the image was circulated to SAPS members.

According to a spokesperson for Durban Central SAPS, Captain Muzi Maphumulo, SAPS circulated an image of a white Datsun Go vehicle and a description of the suspects to members at 10:30.

“On the same day, at about 11:30, while Durban Central Field unit members were patrolling along Queen Street, they noticed the Datsun Go parked on the side of the road,” said Maphumulo.
