“Innovation is a catalyst for progress and national development. Countries like Japan and Singapore, or closer to home, Uganda and Kenya, are making great advancements, mostly due to a holistic adoption of the culture of innovation. Innovate Durban, through its programmes, like the Youth Innovation Challenge, give young, brilliant minds robust support to co-create market-viable solutions that address pertinent challenges within KZN,” said Pasipamire.

YIC, one of the key programmes run by Innovate Durban, presents young people with various challenges and scenarios – they must come up with solutions, in line with the budget they are presented with. The awards for the winners of the programme will be hosted on November 29.
