SAPS investigating murder case, seek assistance

The deceased was travelling with his brothers in a vehicle on Link Road when shots were fired.

DURBAN Central SAPS is appealing for assistance from the community in solving a case of murder after a shooting incident, allegedly fuelled by road rage.

SAPS is appealing for assistance in locating a man, pictured below, who is believed to be able to assist in solving the case.

According to spokesperson for Durban central SAPS Muzi Maphumulo, a man was killed on Link Road in Durban on Monday, May 2 at approximately 02:30. The deceased was travelling with his brothers in a vehicle.

“It is alleged that an incident of road rage erupted between the deceased and the occupants of a white BMW M5. One of the BMW occupants produced a firearm and shot at them. The deceased was hit and died in hospital,” said Maphumulo.

Maphumulo described the suspected shooter as an African man with a ‘rough face’ and short hair, aged between 35-40 years.

“He was wearing a black T-shirt and black pants. He was a passenger of the white BMW M5, registration unknown,” concluded Maphumuulo.
