ON Thursday, September 22, during a police operation targeting buildings suspected to be linked to criminal activity, Durban Central police arrested six suspects for cases relating to illegal immigration, illegal liquor trade, and possession of drugs.
According to Durban Central police captain Muzi Maphumulo, the arrests occurred between 19:00 and 23:00 last night. “The Durban Central police members visited the abandoned buildings at St George Street, Broad Street and Umgeni Road,” said Maphumulo.
“The police members found five people of foreign origin who were without legal documents, and one of the five arrested suspects from one of the buildings was found in possession of 22 parcels of rock cocaine, 20 parcels of heroin and R633 cash.”

Police arrested the five suspects.
“Police members also visited Constantia Court on Broad Street in Durban, where they arrested one suspect for the illegal trading of alcohol. They seized nine and a half Heineken cases, cases of Black Label and nine loose bottles,” said Maphumulo.
The police captain says six buildings in total were visited during the operation.
