Entries are open for Morningside 10km

The route takes runners through the forest of Burman Bush, down to Percy Osborne Road, keeping in the suburb of Morningside.

ONLINE entries are open for the Savages Supa Mama challenge, which takes place on Sunday, August 14.

Starting at 06:30 on Sir Arthur Road in Morningside, the challenge offers participants a 10km or 21km option.

Barrie Knox-Davies, from Savages Athletics Club said the first 1 100 entrants will receive a race T-shirt.

“It’s a collector’s item with a really unique art piece on the shirt,” he said.

The route takes runners through the forest of Burman Bush, down to Percy Osborne Road, and on toward the Florida Road precinct.

“A nice feature of the race is that it’s quite challenging – goes through Burman Bush – a lesser known green belt in Morningside. What really makes this race attractive is that the whole route is within Morningside, which makes you feel like you’re running in your home town,” said Knox-Davies.

Online entries are available until August 10 via www.eventtiming.co.za.

Entries are R160 for the 10km route and R200 for the 21km route. Runners over 70 can participate free of charge. Late entries are R190 for the 10km and R230 for the 21km.
