Arrest linked to protection order

On Friday last week, Berea police also proceeded to serve a protection order to a respondent in Milne Road, Durban.

The order stated that the respondent was a licensed firearm owner and that his licensed firearm had to be seized and kept for safekeeping.

“The police member then noticed a packet inside the safe and requested to examine the packet because the respondent was ‘behaving nervously’. Upon searching the packet, one Norinco 9mm pistol with 54 live rounds of ammunition; two unique 22 pistols with 44 rounds of ammunition; and one Rossi 38 special revolver with 17 rounds were found to be in the packet,” the police said in a statement.

Arrest linked to stabbing incident

In another incident, a man was reportedly stabbed multiple times in an incident on Sandile Thusi Road on Sunday (September 22) evening.

“The facts surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation,” he said.
