Non-profit academic institute celebrates graduation

Youth Entrepreneur Hosting Academy offers a free one-year course for young people to grow in entrepreneurial skills, and once graduated, they are offered mentorship by successful business owners.

A COURSE run in Glenwood by a non-profit organisation called Youth Entrepreneur Hosting Academy (YEHA), which empowers young people on how to successfully run their businesses, by offering them a free one-year course to learn the fundamentals of running a business, has just celebrated yet another graduation with learners who have successfully completed the programme.

The founder of YEHA, Toby Rochat, said, “We have looked forward to this day ever since you first stepped onto our premises. I am very proud of each and every one of you for making it this far. May this day be the beginning of the rest of your lives as you make strides in the business world.”

Completion of this programme means that the students will now receive mentorship from people who have successfully started and run their own businesses to further guide them in the right direction and to possibly help them avoid repeating the same mistakes their mentors might have committed when they were starting out.

The goal of the programme is to provide a solid foundation on running a business by offering its students’ knowledge through courses in topics such as marketing, financial literacy, how to write a business proposal and how to register a business. Upon completion, the students are then offered mentorship.

“I am so proud of myself for making it this far. I can now proudly say I have furthered my education because not only has this place broadened my mind on how to run my business, but it has offered me the opportunity to learn from others and network amongst my peers as we all gear up for the business world and what the future has to offer,” said Mandisa Biyela, one of the students.
