Looking for something romantic to snuggle up to this Valentine's Day, or just have a good cry? Here's a list the Caxton Local Media team came up with.

IF you plan to spend Valentine’s Day snuggling up on the couch with your partner or with your friends, or just alone to remind yourself that romance still exists, well… we have compiled a list for you of some of the best romance and/or comedy of all times.

From classics such as Titanic, The Notebook, and to more recent movies like The Holiday, we have everything from a good laugh to tear-jerking romance.

Now, grab your popcorn, a bottle of wine sit back and watch love unfold…don’t forget your Kleenex!!

  1. Titanic

Jack and Rose’s love story featuring Leonardo De Caprio and Kate Winslet, has transcended generations.  This tear-jerker revolves around the love story of a 17-year-old wealthy girl who falls in love with a struggling artist, aboard the Titanic.

The Notebook

Follows the story of two young people who fall in love, at a summer carnival but because they come from different worlds, the parents of Allie (played by Rachel McAdams) don’t approve of their love.

Noah (played by Ryan Gosling) soon leaves to fight World War II when Allie meets someone new. Years later when Noah returns their love proves to be just as alive as it was years ago.

This movie is about college students who reunite for a friend’s wedding. They soon discover they are characters in a novel that one of their friends Harper (played by Taye Diggs) is writing. The novel reveals their biggest secrets.

  1. Pretty Woman

An unlikely meeting between a hooker and businessman turns into one of the best love stories as they try to bridge the gap between their different worlds while falling for each other. Pretty Woman stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

When Holly’s (played by Hilary Swank) husband (played by Gerald Butler) dies from a brain tumor, she withdraws from life, her family and friends as she is overcome with grief. Around her 30th birthday, she starts receiving gifts and letters from her late husband guiding her on how to continue with life, all ending with ‘P.S I Love You.’
