Glenwood man seriously injured by family dog

The dog bit him when he came home in the early hours of the morning.

A GLENWOOD man is in critical condition after being bitten by his family dog in the early hours of this morning (January 18).

The SAPS and local private security services were in attendance to help separate the man from the dog so they could get access to the patient.

According to Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedics, “Advanced Life Support Paramedics responded to the scene in Westridge, Glenwood, just after 06:30 and found a male, whom they believed to be in his early sixties, in critical condition after being bitten by the family dog. The man was stabilised by ALS paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital where he required urgent care.”

It is alleged that the Boerboel bit the owner upon his arrival in the morning after a night out.

SAPS have launched an investigation.
