KZN’s top grillers fire it up with Nando’s

This year’s KZN Nando’s Griller’s Challenge kicked off this morning with 40 of KZN’s top grillers battling it out to land one of the finalist spots! The panel of judges this year includes Berea Mail journalist, Nia Louw and she gives us the inside scoop on what’s going down at the proudly South African competition.

THE regional Nando’s KwaZulu-Natal Griller’s Challenge kicked off this morning at Nando’s on Pixley Ka Seme Street in the Durban CBD.

The panel of judges, including Berea Mail journalist, Nia Louw have the difficult task of rating and scoring all chicken prepared by the finest Nando’s grillers in KZN.

The Nando’s Grillers Challenge is a long-standing tradition where the best grillers in the country are selected to compete in Johannesburg to be crowned the best griller in South Africa and then, the top four grillers in the country go across to the global competition and stand a chance of being the best griller of Nando’s worldwide.

After making it to the top 4, the Grillers are then invited to the International Griller’s Challenge, where they compete against regional winners from other countries. The Nando’s International Grillers Challenge takes place in a different host country every year, and all contestants not only get to compete on the grill against each other but also spend time getting to know each other and afforded the opportunity learn about the culture and visit some of the sights of the host country.

Nando’s is changing the lives of their employees and offering them the chance to spread their wings with this life-changing competition and experience.
