Fatal Glenwood shooting leaves one dead

Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to a fatal shooting this afternoon in Bulwer Road, where the suspected victim of an attempted hijacking was fatally shot and killed.

A MAN, believed to be the victim of an attempted hijacking, was fatally injured and pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics this afternoon. 

Kyle Van Reenen, spokesperson for Emer-G-Med Paramedics said they arrived on the scene of the shooting in Bulwer Road, Glenwood, just after 14:00, along with the South African Police Services (SAPS) and Netcare 911.

“Reports from the scene are that a male approximately 45 years of age was found on the sidewalk with fatal gunshot wounds. He was declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” said Van Reenen.

He said authorities suspect the shooting is linked to a hijacking incident however an official statement will be made by the SAPS.
