Iqraa Trust hosts a maths training programme

Iqraa Trust recently hosted a two-week mathematics training programme at Hunt Road Secondary to equip the learners with skills that will help them to excel in the subject.

THE Iqraa Trust, a non-profit organisation focused on education, recently hosted training programmes on mathematics for learners in grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 from Hunt Road Secondary School.

According to Dr Mahmoud Baker, chairman of Iqraa Trust the programme focused on how to use the CASIO mathematics calculator, apply various formulas, how to prepare for the mathematics tests and exams, and review past year question papers.

“This interactive programme was conducted over a period of two days and covered the first term mathematics syllabus. A total of 427 learners benefited from the workshop. On completion of the workshop, the learners were awarded the latest CASIO FX 82+II calculator which was sponsored by Iqraa Trust. Iqraa Trust is planning to offer this program to more students and teachers from various schools on a regular basis,” he said.

The programme was facilitated by Lauren Izaak from James Ralph Pty Ltd.

The trust supports hundreds of organisations and thousands of students throughout South Africa by means of grants and donations.
