Goodies galore at Glenwood market

The market offers families a fun day out with plenty of goodies to browse and buy while supporting a good cause.

A RANGE of items will be on sale at the Glenwood Presbyterian Church market on Saturday, March 26 from 08:00 to 12:00.

The community is invited to browse the stands where they will find crafts, books, preserves, tools, toys and a white elephant table.

There will also be coffee, cakes, pancakes boerewors rolls and hamburgers on sale. The market serves as a fundraiser for Operation Outreach a feeding programme run by the church.

Chairperson of Operation Outreach, Dudley Stillwell said the programme has been operating for several years.

“The purpose behind Operation Outreach is to raise funds and help members of the community with food packs. When we had the stricter lockdown, we delivered food packs to families in need within our church and the community. We did the same during the riots in July last year,” he said.

Dudley Stillwell, Aimee du Plessis, Brandon Kandhei and Chante du Plessis gear up for the upcoming market.

Food packs delivered during the Covid-19 lockdown were funded by the church congregation and the markets have been run to raise funds to continue this work.

“These markets are designed to supplement our income so we can continue delivering food packs,” said Stillwell.
