City hosts auction in Springfield

Items are available to view in Springfield ahead of the auction.

A VARIETY of light and heavy motor vehicles, office equipment, furniture, appliances and other items available will be available as the eThekwini Municipality  hosts their third online auction on March 23 and 24.

Held in partnership with Auction Specialist, items can be viewed by the public on March, 18, 21 and 22 at 11 Electron Road in Springfield from 08:30 to 15:00.

Nicholas Mkhize, manager of disposals at the City’s Supply Chain Management Unit, said: “We hold these auctions so that the public may benefit, and it also generates a revenue stream for the municipality,” Mkhize said the City fully supports Radical Economic Transformation.

“We encourage previously disadvantaged individuals to participate,” he said.

Sbu Sihlophe, director of Auction Specialist urged those that are bidding, to complete the process.

In past auctions, we would see individuals bidding on various items, winning the bid but will only pay for one. This places those who were intending to buy the item, at a major disadvantage.”
