Calling all little Shakespeares to enter literature competition
Submissions can also be dropped off at eThekwini Transport Authority offices at 30 Archie Gumede Place (Old Fort Place).
THE eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) in partnership with the South African Road Federation (SARF) is calling on schools to enter its annual ETA SARF Road Safety Primary schools’ poetry and prepared speech competition.
CATEGORIES:
• CATEGORY 1 Poetry: Grade 2 – 3
• CATEGORY 2 Prepared Speech: Grade 4 – 7
• CATEGORY 3 Poetry: Learners with special needs, mild intellectual disability and technical occupation
Each learner must submit a one-page essay on the road safety concerns around the school and the interventions that the school has conducted to address them.
PRIZES
A total of R30 000 sponsored by SARF will be given directly to the winning schools and learners.
• 1st place: R3000 for the learner and R4000 for the school
• 2nd place: R2000 for the learner only
• 3rd place: R1000 for the learner only
Only learners from grades 2 to 7 are eligible to enter.
All completed entry forms (one form per school) and one page essay should be emailed to siphindile.ngidi@durban.gov.za or nonhlanhla.ntusi@durban.gov.za on or before March 25 at 16:00.
