Two women killed in Berea accident

The fatal collision occurred early this morning in Greyville, killing two people and leaving multiple severely injured.

A HORRIFIC accident has left two people dead and 10 injured on Alice Street near Russell Street in Durban at around 06h30 on Friday morning.

ALS paramedic, Garreth Jamieson said they responded to the scene.

“ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find total carnage after a bus and a motor vehicle had collided before colliding with multiple pedestrians,” said Jamieson.

The paramedic said two women believed to be in their 20s and 30s sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more Paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene.

“Ten others sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate and were stabilized on the scene before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that they required,” he said.

At this stage, the events leading up to the accident are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating.
