Entrepreneurs and innovators called to enter empowerment awards

Each award winner will also receive business coaching, mentorship and technical support.

THE SAB Foundation is calling on entrepreneurs and innovators to enter the 12th annual SAB Foundation Social Innovation Awards and 7th annual Disability Empowerment Awards.  

Individuals and businesses who have developed products or services to assist vulnerable communities, qualify.

This includes women, youth, those with disabilities and those living in rural areas with a low income. Prizes range from R200 000 to R1.3 million and must be used as an investment towards improving and commercialising the innovation or business.

If you are an innovator, social entrepreneur, institution or social enterprise with early-stage businesses that can solve social problems, you are strongly recommended to enter.

“We are excited to open the applications in 2022 and look forward to meeting our social disruptors this year,” said Itumeleng Dhlamini, Social Innovation Specialist at the SAB Foundation.  

“Each year we receive many quality applications from inspiring individuals, and we are certain that this year will be no different, ” he added.

Dhlamini said the awards the opportunity to support many talented social innovators who drive change and improve the lives of people in their communities.

Online applications have opened and will close at midday on March 25.  

Only applications submitted on the SAB Foundation web portal will be accepted.
