Durban local drives home in new wheels

Pavithri Jaggernath was the lucky winner of a VW Polo Vivo.

PEDROS head office in Newlands East was abuzz with excitement for their highly anticipated Viva Vivo Prize Draw recently.

The area was decked out with dozens of balloons, a red carpet, and food and drink stalls, as a gorgeous VW Polo Vivo worth over R220 000 took center stage.

The big event, hosted by fabulously funny local comedienne, Nonto R, was the culmination of a three-month national campaign that ran over the festive season and was Pedros’ biggest giveaway to date.

The three lucky ladies – Naadhira Yusuf and Pavithri Jaggernath from Durban, and Zamazulu Makaula who was flown in from Johannesburg – were randomly selected from the pool of over 38 000 entrants from around the country. The trio waited with bated breath and nervous anticipation as they each randomly chose a large, helium-filled balloon and then popped it to receive their key.

Of course, only one key would unlock the car and as it turned out – that key belonged to Pavithri Jaggernath! The crowd erupted, music blared and smoke machines expelled smoke onto the stage as an elated Pavithri squealed, embraced Nonto and then jumped for joy across the stage in front of her brand-new car.

Pavithri, who hails from Merebank and currently resides in Shallcross, was then joined on stage by her ecstatic partner, Clinton Govender, and their son, Orion, as they posed for pictures and admired their new ‘baby’.

The two runner-ups did not go home empty-handed – they each received an amazing Pedros Hamper complete with vouchers and other goodies.

The campaign – Pedros’ biggest to date – was a resounding success, especially across its social media platforms which enjoyed significant gains and millions of engagements. As the fastest-growing chicken franchise in South Africa, Pedros has firmly established itself as a national brand with over 70 amazing stores countrywide and many more in the pipeline.

Their secret? A firm commitment to delivering a quality product, excellent service experience and unbeatable value for money. As a result, Pedros has not only disrupted the QSR market with their strong, consistent product and excellent pricing but has quickly become one of the leading flame-grilled chicken brands in SA! While they believe that ‘local is lekker!’ – sourcing and producing all of their products in conjunction with SA partners – their vision, inspiration and strategy is global.

Last year they opened their first store outside of SA – Pedros Airport Junction in Botswana – and have ambitious plans to expand their international footprint. Want to see what all the fuss is about? Visit a store near you. Viva Pedros!
