UKZN slams ‘fake courses’ registration scammers

Scam artists have been advertising courses that have been discontinued at the university.

THE University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) has urged prospective students to be wary of scam artists conducting phoney registration for courses that don’t exist.

UKZN’s executive director for corporate relations, Normah Zondo said the university will take legal action to ensure individuals who illegally use its name, logo and branding are brought to book.

“The scammers are allegedly posing as administrators of two programs that were discontinued a few years ago – The University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Primary Health Care Programme (PHC) and the Bachelor of Nursing Advanced Practice Programme (BNAP). Any information presented on these programmes should be regarded as disinformation,” she said.
