EXPERTS and students will converge to share the latest in robotics, artificial intelligence, and all things engineering at the 30th Southern African Universities Power Engineering Conference (SAUPEC 2022).
The conference will be hosted by the Durban University of Technology (DUT) at the Durban International Convention Centre Complex from January 25 to 27.
Various topics will be covered at the conference, including information technology, smart grids, renewable energy technologies, computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, mechatronics, and cyber-physical systems. The conference offers attendees the opportunity to present research papers and to network.

The SAUPEC2022 general chair, Professor Innocent Ewean Davidson said a total of 127 papers were received for SAUPEC2022, 66 of which were selected for presentations.
Prof Ganesh Kumar Venayagamoorthy will deliver the keynote address, The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Modern Power Systems, on the second day of the conference. Venayagamoorthy hails from Clemson University in the United States of America. He has taught at Missouri University of Science and Technology (2002 to 2011) and the Durban University of Technology (1996 to 2002).

The second keynote speaker, Professor Dr. İlhami Çolak will deliver his address, Impacts of Digital Transformation on Alternative and Green Energies, on the third day of the conference. Çolak, who is a professor at Nisantasi University, has published more than 98 papers, 220 conference papers, and seven books.
