Shots fired in Durban CBD

There were no injuries reported at the scene.

BULLET shells littered the pavement after a shooting incident on Dr Pixley Kaseme Street in the Durban CBD today (Thursday, January 13).

The spokesperson for Emer-G-Med Paramedics, Kyle Van Reenen, said they rushed to the scene to assist.

“Earlier this afternoon Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to reports of a shooting incident at a lodge,” he said.

Van Reenen said that no injuries were reported.

“Reports from the scene are that an altercation ensued between a client and the lodge manager, leading to the client firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene,” he said.

*Spokesperson for the Durban Central SAPS, Captain Muzi Maphumulo confirmed the shooting.

“A victim was taken to hospital in critical condition. An attempted murder case was reported at Point SAPS,” he said.
