THE spokesperson for the eThekwini Municipality, Msawakhe Mayisela said the City will re-open several libraries that were recently closed.
This was noted after libraries in Umbilo and Windermere shut their doors and left residents questioning where they would find books over the festive season.
Commenting on the library closures, Mayisela said, “The Umbilo and Windermere libraries leases expired on 30 November 2021. Plans are afoot to move the two libraries to council-owned properties. In the meantime, residents can make use of all other eThekwini Municipal libraries, except Reservoir Hills Library, which was burnt down during riots and Dassenhoek, which was damaged and looted.”
