Music Mayhem to dazzle at Collegians Bowling Club

The fun, sing-along show will raise funds to support Collegians Bowling Club.

A MEDLEY of music will wow audiences on December 18 as Collegians Bowling Club hosts Music Mayhem.

Director and choreographer for the show, Sheila Markovic said the show will be presented in a Barnyard style where audiences can bring along a picnic basket of eats to enjoy during the show.

“It’s a musical show with music from the 60s until today. There are nine members taking part. We will be lip-synching. This show was started in the 1990’s by Lionel Deloray. He and his wife started the show and performed at all of the bowling clubs,” she said.

Markovic will take to the stage with fellow bowlers: Rudi Hollenbach, Lynn Carolan, Graham Schouten, Carol Hollenbach, Mario Markovic, Hayley Tilley, and Keith Orell. Proceeds from the ticket sales will support Collegians Bowling Club.

“We are raising money for the club. We have lost a lot of money over the Covid-19 pandemic. We haven’t been able to host bowling tournaments and get-togethers. Bowling clubs were closed for most of the year, last year,” said Markovic.

The music will be accompanied by a spectacular wardrobe that mimics the era of each song. “We have tried to copy what the original artists wore,” she said.

Audiences can expect to see Elvis-inspired rhinestones and ensembles from All that Jazz.

“If Covid-19 restrictions allow, we will get the audience involved to dance and sing along,” said Markovic.

The show is presented in two parts- the first half is an hour and 15 minutes, followed by a 30-minute interval and an hour-long second half. Tickets are R100 Contact Lynn Carolan on 084 242 4444.
