Durban Business Fair offers variety of local flavour and more

It all systems go for the 2020 Durban Business Fair this weekend.

THE Durban Business Fair (DBF) weekend is around the corner and the City promises the public a jam-packed three days of empowerment, exhibitions, and shopping of locally produced goods.

The fair will be held at the Durban Exhibition Centre from Friday, December 10 until Sunday, December 12 at 09:00. This year’s theme is ‘Buy Local and Support Local’.

DBF’s aim is to promote the culture of buying local and investing in local communities for benefits such as job creation and local economic growth.

The City’s spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela said the City has also planned business engagements and a Youth Business Connect session that will be facilitated by industry experts.

“Lined up are a series of masterclasses, including an intellectual property masterclass and a digital marketing masterclass. The fair will also empower filmmakers through workshops on funding application processes for developmental programmes,” he said.

According to Mayisela, six successful filmmakers will be handed grant cheques valued at R250 000 as part of the City’s development programmes, facilitated by the Durban Film Office.

In addition, there will be a Kiddiepreneur section which will instill a culture of entrepreneurship at a young age. Children will get a chance to participate in different activities.
