KZN government commemorates World Aids Day

This year’s commemoration takes place as the province of KwaZulu-Natal prepares to host the International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA), scheduled for December 6 to 11 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre.

THE Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Sihle Zikalala launched the provincial government’s annual World AIDS Day commemoration programme today (Wednesday, December 1) at the Gugu Dlamini Park in Durban.

Zikalala, along with MEC for agriculture and rural development, Bongi Sithole-Moloi, and the eThekwini Municipality Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda, ???.

The premier said the launch will reflect on the threat posed by the ‘double pandemic’ in the form of HIV/Aids and TB and Covid-19.

The premier also emphasised the need for citizens to get vaccinated.
