Support Remembrance Day service at Umbilo Church

Father Dane Elsworth said on Remembrance Day, there will be a piper for the lament and hamburgers on sale after the service and refreshments will be available.

A REMEMBRANCE service will be held at St Cyprian’s Church, 603 Umbilo Road, on Sunday, November 14, to commemorate Remembrance Day at 09:00.

According to Father Dane Elsworth, Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day, is held to honour the men and women who died in the line of duty.

The poppy is an enduring symbol of remembrance of WW1, a common sight on the Western Front, explained Father Elsworth.
