SAPS donate food to Denis Hurley Centre

SAPS members also cooked meals for the homeless.

MEMBERS of the SAPS Durban Central Social Crime Prevention unit visited the Dennis Hurley Centre in Cathedral Road to make a donation of hearty food for the homeless.

The members delivered food donations and distributed crime-prevention pamphlets to the homeless. Sergeant Zanele Khomo said the initiative aimed to foster a good relationship between the police and the community.

“Members donated food to the centre and they went the extra mile to cook for (the homeless) as a way of reaching out to the community. Durban Central Police station cares about the community, especially the vulnerable groups,” said Khomo.
