Local nurse vies for Ms Unseen International crown

Ms Unseen South Africa is an unconventional pageant aimed at making a difference towards combating gender-based violence and instilling hope in the beautiful women in the country.

MOTIVATED by her passion to ignite change, Musgrave resident and Ms Unseen International 2021 finalist, Samentha Reddy hopes to use her platform to make a difference.

The 37-year-old, is a nurse by profession and specialises in psychiatry, said she is driven to serve the community and hopes to inspire young women and men in her community to do the same.

“I was in isolation for Covid-19 in January this year and I received a link from the founder of the competition, Charina Joubert, who motivated me to enter. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone so I entered. I want to inspire young women and men in my community,” said Reddy.

For Reddy, this competition emphasises the redefinition of beauty in the industry as it focuses solely on the inner heart and soul of each individual and how they can make an impactful difference in their communities.

Ms Unseen South Africa is an unconventional pageant aimed at making a difference towards combating gender-based violence and instilling hope in the beautiful women in the country.

“It is a platform that is against gender-based violence and, from 2022, the platform will be introducing gender equality and mental health,” she said.

When asked what inspires her, she said it came from reading motivational books. She also draws her inspiration from people who are humble, dedicated and hard working.

“I want to work towards expanding my non-profit company, Honeycombe of Hope. I have also started writing articles for online magazines related to mental health and I want to concentrate on working on that,” she said.

The final show will be held in Cape Town on October 9.
