Volunteers love a successful clean-up

Speaking to Berea Mail, Collen Nkuna, a member of the Intl.WeLoveU Foundation said the clean-up resulted in 150 bags of rubbish being collected.

MORE than 30 members of the Intl.WeLoveU Foundation participated in a clean-up on Sunday around the Durban Harbour.

Speaking to Berea Mail, Collen Nkuna, a member of the Intl.WeLoveU Foundation said the clean-up resulted in 150 bags of rubbish being collected.

Nkuna said this time they chose the Durban Harbour to contribute to the preservation of the environment, by responding to climate change that threatens lives of all mankind as well as the sea creatures.

“While this is the first time clean up of the harbour, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation holds environmental campaigns through the Clean World Movement every year,” said Nkuna.

In addition, he said the clean-up campaign was organised by the chairwoman of the Intl.WeLoveU Foundation, Zahng Gil-Jah.

“Zahng Gil-Jah has been carrying out global welfare activities to help neighbours, society, reach out to families in the global village through this clean-up campaign under the slogan ‘With the Heart of a Mother,’ he said.

During the clean-up, the foundation worked with two representatives from the Durban Solid Waste department (DSW) with the aim of protecting the global environment and preventing disasters caused by climate change.
