Join Durban Global Shapers and help make a difference

Speaking to Berea Mail, curator Ntethelelo Gonya, said Durban Global Shapers is looking for young, solution-driven individuals who are committed to change, build and inspire.

THE Durban Hub of the Global Shapers Community is recruiting new members. If you are focused on creating a social impact and change within the region of Durban, this group is ideal for you. 

The hub, which is a division of the World Economic Forum, was founded by Lynette Ntuli in 2014.

Speaking to Berea Mail, curator Ntethelelo Gonya, said Durban Global Shapers is looking for young, solution-driven individuals who are committed to change, build and inspire.

He said they are looking for members between the ages of 18-27 years old who is committed to shaping the Durban community. 

“Global Shapers is a global movement of extraordinary and inspiring young people, working together to address local, regional and global challenges through dialogue, action, and change. It is made up of extraordinary young individuals residing in the city of Durban,” he said.

“Are you looking for an environment to challenge and develop your interpersonal and leadership skills? Then here’s an exciting opportunity for you,” he said.

“In each city, teams of Shapers self-organise to create projects that address the needs of their communities. Projects are wide-ranging from responding to disasters by providing social relief and combating poverty, to fighting climate change and building inclusive communities. Shapers are diverse in expertise, education, income and race, but are united by their desire to bring about change,” he said.
