Two suspects arrested after robbing a woman in Durban
Police were patrolling in the area when they saw a woman running down the road shouting for help.
TWO suspects will appear in court on Monday, September 13, after they attempted to steal a cellphone on Walnut Road.
Spokesperson for Durban Central SAPS, Captain Muzi Maphumulo said police were patrolling in the area when they saw a woman running down the road shouting for help.
“It is alleged that the complainant was on foot, talking on a cellphone along Walnut Road in Durban when two males snatched the cellphone and ran away,” he said.

“The Durban Central members were on static duties on the corner of Walnut Road and Commercial Road when they noticed the complainant running after two (suspects), shouting for help. The police members swiftly gave chase,” added Maphumulo.
The suspects, aged 31 and 37, were arrested for common robbery and possession of dangerous weapons.

“The cellphone of the complainant, and a knife were found in the suspects’ possession,” said Maphumulo.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s court on Monday.
