Durban SAPS appeal for information on rape and kidnapping case

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala said it is alleged that on June 29 at 16:00, the complainant was at the Workshop in the Durban CBD to meet a person that was selling a laptop on social media.

DURBAN Central Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual offences Unit is appealing for information on the whereabouts of the man in the identikit. According to police, the man can assist with solving a case of rape and kidnapping.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala said it is alleged that on June 29 at 16:00, the complainant was at the Workshop in the Durban CBD to meet a person that was selling a laptop on social media.

Gwala added that when the seller arrived, he began chatting to the woman before he pulled out a knife, which was hidden under his jacket, and threatened her.

“She was forced into a vehicle and the man drove to Reservoir Hills where she was raped and robbed of her cash and cellphone. Police believe that the man in the attached picture can be of assistance in solving the case,” added Capt Gwala.
