Silent Protest 2021 Task Team member, Siphesihle Ngubo said webinars held recently had set the tone for the Annual Silent Protest.

“In the spirit of embracing diversity and leaving no one behind at DUT, this year’s Silent Protest will feature one guest, who will share the challenges faced by the LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex) community,” she said.

“It is a fact that in all advocacies around social ills, the LGBTI community is constantly left behind and at DUT, we have a number of students who identify as LGBTI and therefore, we will highlight the plight of inequality of the LGBTI community,” added Ngubo.
