Tiger Brands recalls certain KOO and Hugo’s canned products

The packaged goods company said the reason for the recall was due to defective cans.

CERTAIN Hugo’s and KOO canned products have been recalled by Tiger Brands due to defective cans supplied by a packaging supplier.

The canned vegetable products that were produced from May 1, 2019 to May 5, 2021 have been identified as the products making use of the defective cans.

According to a statement by KOO, the cans may have a defective side seam that could cause the can to leak.

“Tiger Brands identified the issue as part of its internal quality assurance process,” read the statement.

The household brand noted that, to date, no health issues had been reported that related to the affected product range.
