KZN art gallery announces its temporary closure

The closure comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa reintroduced the Covid-19 alert level 4 restrictions for a two-week period.

THE KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts Gallery, based in Berea, Durban, will be closed to the public until 11 July.

This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa reintroduced the Covid-19 alert level 4 restrictions for a two-week period, due to the massive surge in infections.

Executive director, Angela Shaw, said, “Due to the new government regulations, the gallery is temporarily closed to the public until 11 July. We will reopen once regulations allow. We will continue to share our exhibitions with you online and via our online gallery.”

Shaw added the Arts Café will be open for takeaway coffee and meals and the shop remains open as normal.

“You can continue to support us and artists through our online gallery, by visiting our shop, in store or online, and stopping by for coffee,” she said.
