Morningside business owner robbed at gunpoint

The man was stabilised on the scene by paramedics.

A bottle store owner was injured during an armed robbery on Fyfe Road in Morningside on Wednesday just before 18:00. 

Kyle Van Reenen of Emer-G-Med Paramedics said they rushed to the scene to assist the injured business owner.

“A bottle store in the area was robbed a short while ago. The owner was confronted by armed suspects who pistol-whipped him,” said Van Reenen.

According to Van Reenen, there were three suspects involved in the robbery.

“The victim was treated on the scene. He declined further hospital treatment. He had moderate injuries and is in a stable condition. SAPS was on scene. No arrests were made,” he said.
