SUSPECTS targeted a Musgrave school yesterday, 10 June, when they broke in and stole various items.

“Later that evening, a resident across the street from the same school spotted a suspect and alerted the keyholder, who contacted Blue Security. The intruder damaged the fence, but our armed response officer’s arrival prevented the suspect from leaving with items he had attempted to steal,” he said.

On the same day, in another school in Hillcrest, a suspect jumped over the fence and broke the door of the tools area.

Jackson noted schools are soft targets for opportunistic thieves.

He advised ground keepers to remain alert and valuable items be secured or locked away.
