Petrol price to drop by 10c a litre

Crude oil prices, international petroleum product prices and Rand/US Dollar exchange rate have been labelled as the main reasons for the fuel adjustments.

MOTORISTS will breathe a sigh of relief when the cost of petrol drops by 10 cents a litre on Wednesday, 2 June.

The drop in fuel price was announced by Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe.

According to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis and are influenced by international and local factors.

The department added that international factors include the fact that South Africa imports both crude oil and finished products at a price set at the international level, including importation costs.
