Countdown begins for Durban Ultra Triathlon
With a full road closure, the event, on 1 August, embraces the warm Indian ocean, then takes competitors on a journey along the northern coast of Durban ending at Suncoast for the final run leg along the flat Golden Mile.
THE countdown has begun for the 2021 Durban Ultra Triathlon and with just 64 days to go, participants are encouraged to submit their entries by 1 July.
With a full road closure, the event, on 1 August, embraces the warm Indian ocean, then takes competitors on a journey along the northern coast of Durban ending at Suncoast for the final run leg along the flat Golden Mile.

Join SA’s friendly triathlon fraternity in either the sprint or Ultra Triathlon race on Durban’s beautiful Golden Mile.
The sprint includes a 600m swim /20km cycle /5km run while the Ultra consists of a 1.9km swim / 90km cycle / 21km run. Choose your distances and take up the challenge.
The Durban Ultra Triathlon brings back the nostalgic atmosphere of the Durban Ultra hosted in the mid 80s to late 90s. Durban’s warm water, easy bike course, and flat running route along the beachfront is the perfect race to start with or chase that elusive PB time.
According to organisers of the event, the Durban Ultra Triathlon offers competitors one of the best value for money ultra-triathlons in Africa.
