Durban Central detectives appeal for assistance in rape case

According to police, the victim allegedly went out on the previous day with her two friends for a birthday celebration at Blue Lagoon.

DURBAN Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit detectives are appealing to the public for assistance to locate the man in the identikit.

Police believe the man can assist with information on a rape incident that happened in the Durban CBD.

Spokesperson for the Durban Central SAPS, Captain Muzi Maphumulo, said it is alleged on 16 May, at about 11am, a 32-year-old victim discovered that she was raped.

“The victim allegedly went out on the previous day with her two friends for a birthday celebration at Blue Lagoon. It is said the victim, who was drunk on the day, was assisted by a person to get back to her room at midnight on the same day. The victim discovered the next day that she was raped. The police believe that the person in the picture could assist them to solve this case,” he said.
