A 24-year-old suspect is expected to appear in Durban Magistrate’s Court today after he was arrested with cash following a business robbery on Dr Pixley Kaseme Street recently.
Colonel Thembeka Mbele from provincial SAPS said officers from the Durban Central police station were responding a complaint when they arrested the suspect.
“It is alleged that two unknown males entered the business premises on Dr Pixley Kaseme Street and one of the men, with a firearm, instructed the cashier that they are working and they need money from each till.
“The suspects had a bag and started loading money inside the bag. Both suspects left the shop and the security guard who was outside noticed what was happening and alerted the police who were conducting patrol duties,” she said.
