Durban hospitals, CBD to be affected by water interruptions

The repairs will be done on a 600mm diameter steel water reticulation pipe which supplies Greyville and surrounding areas.

REPAIR work at the Currie Road Reservoir will lead to water interruptions in Durban Central (CBD) and hospitals in the area.

According to the eThekwini Municipality, major repairs will be done at the reservoir today (11 May) from 9pm to 5am tomorrow.

City spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela said, repairs will be done on a 600mm diameter steel water reticulation pipe which supplies Greyville and surrounding areas.

“The following areas will be affected until the process to replace the faulty valve is fixed: Durban CBD in the vicinity of Greyville,  St Aiden’s Hospital, City Hospital, Ascot Hospital, Durban University of Technology (Steve Biko and ML Sultan campuses).  eThekwini Municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused during this period and requests residents to use water sparingly,” said Mayisela.
