Brighton Beach police nab suspects with R29k cash, Sassa cards

The suspects were found with multiple Sassa cards and various bank cards in their possession.

FOUR suspects, aged between 18 and 48, are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of stolen property and contravention of the National Credit Act.

According to Colonel Thembeka Mbele from Provincial SAPS, police officers from Brighton Beach SAPS received information about a group of suspects who were in possession of multiple Sassa cards and various bank cards.

The suspects were spotted withdrawing money from an ATM.

“The officers proceeded to an ATM on Grays Inn Road in Brighton Beach. Four suspects were caught red-handed with a two litre container with various cards. A total of R29 550 was also seized from the suspects, said Col Mbele.

She urged the public to not hand over their cards to any unauthorised persons as this amounts to a criminal offence.
