Woman fires gun in Glenwood park

The scene is still active and residents have been urged to avoid the area.

RESIDENTS have been urged to avoid Evans Road, Durban.

This comes after after random shots were allegedly fired by a woman who was seen alone at the park. 

Umbilo Crime Prevention and Metro Police attended the scene.

Umbilo CPF chairperson, Heather Roos, warned the public to stay away from Kingsley Gardens Street and Evans Road due to the active crime scene.

“Its alleged that the woman phoned her boyfriend, today at around noon, at work stating she wanted to commit suicide. She then went into a nearby park and discharged four rounds into the air. She has attempted suicide before,” said Roos.

According to Kyle van Reenen, of Emer-G-Med KZN, hostage negotiators were able to resolve situation without any injuries.
