Durban’s I Heart Market returns this weekend

Entrance to the market is free and masks must be worn in line with Covid-19 regulations.

AFTER markets were suspended under lockdown protocols for a year, the I Heart market returns on Saturday, 1 May from 8.30am to 2pm at the Bond Shed Events Venue at the Point Waterfront in Durban. Entrance to the market is free and masks must be worn in line with Covid-19 regulations.

“We have decided to open our doors again but in a more intimate, socially distanced, and safe manner,” said Anna Savage, owner of the market.

In line with Covid-19 protocols, the market will be downsized to promote social distancing, added Savage.

“We will only have 30 local traders, with ample space between stalls and the number of customers will be limited in the different areas. Sanitisers will be available and all Covid-19 protocols observed,” she said.

“Self-employed artisans, crafters, and entrepreneurs have been hard hit by the lockdowns, and this is one way we can help support them and reignite this sector,” added Savage.
