Woman hit by motorist while cycling near Durban beach

The cyclist was rushed to hospital with a suspected fractured hip.

A WOMAN (40) was hit by a motorist while cycling on Battery Beach Road this morning (29 April). 

Spokesperson for Emer-G-Med paramedics, Kyle Van Reenen said they responded to the scene just after 6.30am.

“A female cyclist has been left with moderate injuries after being struck by a light motor vehicle,” he said.

“The cyclist suffered a suspected fractured hip. She was treated and stabilised on scene by Advanced Life Support practitioners, before being taken to hospital,” added Van Reenen.

“The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injury,” said Van Reenen.
